This 22-story building was originally conceived as a 227 unit residential condominium. Abandoned by the original developers after being 80% completed, and in the control of the Louisiana Insurance Commission, the building sat open to the elements, unfinished and unoccupied for eight years. Orion negotiated the purchase of the building from the Louisiana Insurance Commission and separately acquired four acres of land in front of the project. Over the next two years, Orion completed the development and leased it as an exclusive apartment project, complete with jogging trails, doorman and concierge. Less than a year after completion, the project was sold to a consortium of foreign investors.
